Basics about Moles and Freckles

Both moles and freckles are the area of the skin that has increased pigment and melanin. With growing age and constant exposure to sunlight, there are various changes that take place in the skin. Most people tend to have some skin marks such as moles and freckles that darken and multiply over time. Freckles are dark, flat spots on the sun-exposed areas of a person’s skin and are common among people with red or blond hair and very fair skin. However, in some cases freckles can be hereditary as well.

There are basically two kinds of freckles which usually take place fist one is Ephelides and second is Lentigines Ephelides and which usually occurs at the time of sunny months and generally gets fade at the time of winters. These freckles can be treated by applying bleaching creams, dabbed horseradish vinegar or horseradish vinegar or oatmeal applied on the skin as well assist in lightening the freckles.

Besides, Moles are small marks on the skin caused due to production of pigment cells on the skin. They can be raised or flat, rough or smooth and may sometimes contain hair. Most moles are black or dark brown in colour, but they can also be yellow or skin-coloured. They tend to change over time and usually respond to various hormonal changes in the body. Unlike moles, freckles are not present at birth.

However there are some natural remedies that can lighten or erase the mole from the desired area. One such remedy is applying the juice of sour apples three times in a day for almost regular three weeks and don’t stop the process in between. Another extremely effective remedy is applying liquid of onion one time in a day for some weeks over the mole. This also almost eliminates the mole.

Moles become prominent with age and darken with sun exposure or due to hormonal changes during pregnancy. If you have a mole or freckle that changes in shape, colour or size, and becomes painful, you must consult a qualified doctor immediately. Though there are rare chances, these may turn into skin cancer.
