Freckles which are also known by the name of ephelides are very small brown colored flat spots which are generally appeared on the face and arms of the people mostly due to exposure to the sun light. The ultra violet rays of the sun light are mostly responsible for the freckle which produces the pigmentation on the skin.
Sometimes freckles are proved to be harmful if they are not treated on time, they can take form of melanoma, a kind of skin cancer. The most common symptoms of Freckles include appearance of brown spots on face and arms, reddening of hair, diarrhea, pain in the abdomen, loss of weight and moles in the affected skin area.
The main cause of the freckles is prolonged exposure to the sunlight. It tans the skin completely. There are other treatments are also available at reasonable prices like Bleaching which is used by most of the people specially in parlors by the use of 2% hydroquinone and a bleaching agent, then chemical peels in which age spots, wrinkles, discoloration are to be removed from the skin through chemicals.
Apart from all these treatments the best treatment is prevention of freckles that is avoiding exposure to the sun. Other procedures that can be used to treat Freckles include use of Tretinoin, cryosurgery, IPL (Intense Pulsed Light Therapy) and Horse-radish juice or vinegar, or dabbing of oatmeal on the affected area which is helpful in making the color of the freckles lighter.
Today, we also have a lot of anti-freckle creams which are both effective and safe. Most of these creams are simple to use and may lighten the freckles over time. Some specialized creams may also eliminate freckles, age spots, blemishes, sun spots and hyper-pigmentation. These creams are also helpful in balancing uneven tones of skin and illuminating it.
